I have been trying to think about where I would like to start..talking 'bout the good old days. I want to do some photos in among my writings but I can't use the scanner right now...it needs ink.
When we were in Abilene, I remember I was so proud of Glenda. She was on the pep squad. They wore white oxford shirts. Other that the schools in Paris, I can't recall the name of any school in particular except for this one. Glenda would cheer " When College Heights boys all get in line" I was proud of her. I think it was about the only time I saw any games growing up, and a lot of the cheers we would see were at pep rallies. Glenda had the prettiest, and longest pony tail that curled so beautifully and would swing and sway as she did the cheers. I thought she was the prettiest one there even including the cheer leaders. Looking back, I realize I was just a tag along and possible the reason mom let Glenda go...oh well, least I served a purpose.
I also remember we had some neighbors at that time that we went to a wrestling match with. That was a first experience for me, too. They had one wrestler everyone wanted autographs from and I went up and asked him for one and he said just sign an "X" so I wrote "X" on several stir stix and divided them out among our row of friends. I felt pretty industrious until later when I realized that was one of my first deceptions.
Remembering can be such fun. Looking forward to more posts.
